That’s how it is for everyone of us. “Throughout life”, meaning life doesn’t stop for any of us. And along with that, the 7 billion people on this planet are all here to stay, and some of them are bound to make you feel less-than-stellar, one time or another.
So don’t get too affected by them or even allow them to bring you down. Just let it go, and move on with life. Let God, or well if you don’t believe in God, let the universe deal with them on its own.
“We spend money that we do not have, on things we do not need, to impress people who do not care.”
Is money controlling your life? Are you working hard for money to get luxuries and other stuff for a certain kind of image you want to portray?
Money is important in life, but it’s more important to not be consumed by it. Remember that there’s more to life than just buying things. Go out and live.
“Being realistic is the most common path to mediocrity.”
Hey nothing wrong with being realistic. We’re only human.
But don’t ever let the idea of being realistic hold you back. Being realistic doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take risks. It shouldn’t scare you! Don’t be mediocre. Work hard for what you want, even if what you want seems crazy to others.
“Money & success don’t change people; they merely amplify what is already there.”
You’re totally special and entirely amazing the way you are. You have unique talents.
You have natural abilities. They all make up for the only [insert your name] that is in this world.
Too bad that a lot of people think money and a proven track record are needed to soar in life. You don’t. Give yourself a chance, and try, you can pretty much do anything.
“Stop letting people who do so little for you control so much of your mind, feelings & emotions”.
Stop caring about what others think of you, especially from people you hardly even know!
Stop being so affected by the things they say or do to the point where your mind is clouded by them and your left with nothing but unhappy feelings inside.
Let these unimportant people go by your life. You don’t know them well, so don’t let them impact you in ways you don’t want.
“You can cry, ain’t no shame in it. “
If you’re sad, express it. We’ve created ideas around crying today such that people repress themselves, which isn’t healthy.
Crying is a very natural thing for all of us. Don’t be ashamed about it just because you’re human.
“The things that have been most valuable to me I did not learn in school. “
Getting an education may be important, but that’s not all to life.
You can learn a huge load outside of school, not by a teacher. And you don’t need to be validated by grades. Grades don’t judge your degree of competence.
Go out and experience life. Your very own experience is a great teacher on its own and the lessons you learn will stick with you for life.
“The first step is you have to say that you can. “
It’s all about attitude.
Whatever goal you want to reach, whatever you want to do in life, your success originates from your attitude.
And it’s got to be a good one. Believe that you can, and you’ll never know what you can achieve in life.
And my all time favourite quote…
“The only thing that I see that is distinctly different about me is that I’m not afraid to DIE on a treadmill. You might have more talent than me, you might be smarter than me, but if we get on a treadmill together, there are two things:
1- You’re getting off first
OR
2- I’m gonna DIE
It’s really that simple”
Today’s post isn’t so much about soccer as it is about the idea of not giving up.
As you will see below, the Peruvian goalkeeper was clearly beat by the opposing players quick footwork. As the keeper scrambles to make up lost ground, he doesn’t let his brief mistake hinder his ability to turn tragedy into triumph. He speeds back and makes not one but two incredible saves to deny what looked to be a sure goal.
The game ended in a 3-3 tie.
Few things cannot be overcome when you believe in your abilities and refuse to let past mistakes determine your future.
This Sunday’s Golden Globes was a huge success. Everyone was filled with the excitement that preceded the award show with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosting. And the two lovely ladies did not let us down. The Golden Globes are one of the most exciting award shows. You get to watch your favorite movie and TV stars get drunker and funnier as the awards night goes on.
Buzzfeed outlined the 20 most surprising moments of the night. And there were some great moments to choose from. Tina and Amy’s opening monologue, Bill Murray’s presence, Bill Clinton’s speech, and of course, watching Glenn Close ‘pretending’ to be wasted. Some of the major winners last night included Lena Dunham winning two awards the night of the premiere of her show’s second season, Adele for Best Song and Jennifer Lawrence for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical (and in her acceptance speech “I Beat Meryl!”).

The show this weekend definitely got me excited for the Academy Awards, coming up on February 24 – though it will be difficult for the Oscars to beat out last nights great show.
We’re nearing the start of a new year and for the film buffs out there that means one thing. Oscar season. It’s a time to look back at this years biggest and best films and to speculate on who the winners might be. Critics and columnists are already making their predictions about this year’s winners and nominees.
But there’s one other thing the Oscars are good for and that’s taking the time to celebrate the classics. Spaghetti westerns, musicals, silent movies, the Oscars remembers them all.
So to get you in the mood for Oscar season (and to look like you’re a bit of a know-it-all at you Oscar parties) we’ve collected some quotes from the best of classic movie Directors, Actors and Actresses.

For many the best part of returning home is to be greeted by their loving dog, cat or maybe even their snake. Though if someone’s snake is roaming freely around the house they should probably invest in a better terrarium!
Animals can be our best friends, they love us unconditionally (so long as we feed them). They’re always there for us and even when we probably should be working we somehow manage to get distracted by them on the internet.
So just in case your day needed a little bit of cute distraction we’ve collected together 10 of the best animal GIFs to get you smiling and making that strange “squee” noise animal lovers tend to make.
And here are some of our quotes about pets!
God, I know we are your chosen people, but couldn’t you choose somebody else for a change? – Shalom Aleichem
Even though I grew up celebrating Christmas my whole life, I always thought the idea of 8 days of gifts was way cooler than just one day. I grew up eating lots of the foods associated with Hanukah during the holiday season. And although no one makes latke’s and sufganiyot (or as I call them placki and pączki) as good as my Nana – a lot of us will be enjoying these specialties this holiday season.

I originally came across this video several years ago because, well, my name rhymes with the holiday, and Sesame Street is how I learn most of the things I know. So here it is: Veronica Monica with the Story of Hanukkah!
So dust off your Menora’s and unpack your dreidles… it’s Hanukkah time!
As we say goodbye to 2012 and welcome 2013, here are a few of our favourites from the past year.
